Vickie Faye Vaughan's Obituary
Vickie Faye Vaughan I have had the most amazing time walking through this life on earth, but now my life has taken flight and I am celebrating in the light and presence of our Lord and joyfully reunited with my most incredible mom. My life was wonderful and made all the more special by my parents, Leroy and the late Faye Vaughan. I was also extremely blessed to have had and be survived by 2 Brothers, Guy (Benna) and Gary. I have 2 nieces, Brandi, (her son Marley) and Mandi, (with her husband Philip and son Sean). And how could I possibly leave out my friends and cohorts in crime, Jodie and Peggy? Alas, I was that middle child, which should explain a lot to most of you. My brothers prepared me for life by teaching me several guiding principles (1) don’t leave your Barbie Dolls around or they will get lynched from the trees (2) don’t ask to go for a ride if you don’t know where he is going (3) it’s the key with “GAS” on it and, (4) the youngest could never do anything wrong because…..well he was the youngest! Nice, right? It was – it was wonderful, never perfect but honestly……what family is? I was blessed to have a great family who put up with me and my bossiness for many years and I am confident they will make up stories over the coming days, so pay no attention. Thank you to my peers, friends and associates at ADP. Your encouragement, extra assignments, outstanding care packages and your humor added such value to my life. Thank you Dr. Amy Cripps, Sam Matthews from NexGen, Linda and Victoria from Presby Oncology for fighting on my behalf, you were my partners in and out of the ring and I am in awe of what you do every day. Of course I wish I had a “do-over” in some areas, but we all do, right? At the end of the day, I hope I was able to add a bit of joy, laughter and love to your life. It is never the year you were born in, or the year you died that matters or defines you – it is that dash in the middle, and what a dash I have had! It is well with my soul. Come celebrate my home-going on Saturday, Novenber 21st at 2 PM at Restland Memorial Park. Please save the money you might spend on flowers and pay it forward for someone who could use a lift-up, best gift ever! Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. Please save the money you might spend on flowers and pay it forward for someone who could use a lift-up, best gift ever!
