Violet Grossman's Obituary
Violet Evelyn Niemeyer Grossman was born to John and Martha Locke Niemeyer on June 29, 1927 in Weimar, Texas. She passed away at the age of 96 at her home in Providence Village, Texas.
Violet spent her life loving Jesus. She was baptized on November 25, 1927. As a teenager, she had her Confirmation on April 14, 1943. She was a humble servant and was most recently a member of Water's Edge Lutheran Church.
Violet Evelyn Niemeyer met the love of her life, Helmut Ernst Grossman, and the two were married on May 4, 1947. It was just before her 20th birthday. Together they had three beautiful daughters.
In her free time, she enjoyed being with others. Also known as, Mother, Grandma, Great-grandma, and GG ViVi; Violet loved being in the kitchen and creating the best meals and desserts for her family and friends, including her delicious "Grandma bread". She also appreciated the time she could spend in her garden, especially tending to her rose bushes.
Violet is preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Niemeyer; beloved husband, Helmut Grossman; five brothers, Arnold, Ferdnand, Clarence, Johnny, and William; five sisters, Laura, Carrie, Martha, Pearl, and Mamie; two sons-in-law, and one dear grandson.
She is survived by her three daughters, Kay Harris and husband, Don of Amarillo; Judy Fox-Simpson and husband, Dennis of Gun Barrel City; and Lana Davies of Providence Village. Her legacy will also be carried on by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
