PECK, VIRGIE LEE CHAMPION born February 12, 1928 in Birmingham, AL and passed away June 25, 2013 in Garland, TX. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Champion and Irma Morris and her husband, David Woodrow Peck; sisters, Shirley Escoe, Clarice Ellis; daughter, Karen Elaine Bowman; grandson, Kenneth McGlaun . She was a Wedding Coordinator and Contributions / Membership secretary for First Baptist Church of Garland and head timekeeper for Sears. Virgie is survived by her son, David Peck of The Colony, TX; daughters, Dianne Hall and husband, Jimmy of Garland, TX and Beverly Strickland and husband, Cary of Grapevine, TX; sister, Freida Mundt of Kanapolis, North Carolina; brother, Jerry Champion of McKinney, TX; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Visitation will be from 6:00PM – 8:00PM, Thursday, June 27, 2013 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10:00AM, Friday, June 28, 2013 at First Baptist Church of Garland. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Christmas House or Friendship House of First Baptist Church Garland at 801 West Avenue D Garland, Texas 75040.
