Mr. Virgil Doyle Lee Jr., age 83, passed away on Wednesday September 6,2023, in Dallas, Texas. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him. Read Obituary
Lt. Lee was my first lieutenant when I was a rookie at the Northwest Division in 1980. I recall answering a major disturbance call at a bar on Harry Hines late one night and it was the type of call where several officers were required due to a large crowd. We were getting the situation under control when Lt. Lee pulled up, got out of his cruiser and jumped right in helping us handle the situation. I never forgot that because most patrol lieutenants were not active in the field (at that time) and would pretty much stay in the station. He was a good man and I respected him very much.
