Virgil Clinton Nash's Obituary
Virgil Clinton Nash, who celebrated 92 years on this Earth, passed away on May 22, 2020 in Garland, Texas.
Virgil was born on January 16, 1928 in Quanah, Texas to his parents: Ernest V. and Orba (Park) Nash. He proudly served his nation in the US Army from 1946-1947 as Private, First Class, and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal. Virgil married Ouida Johnston on September 15, 1954 in Rockwall, Texas and worked as a grocery manager at Safeway for 40 years. He was also an Antique Dealer at Canton First Mondays for 25 years.
Virgil was a devoted member of Central Baptist Church for 40 years and a current member of Dallas County Cowboy Church. He was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, starting with the team when they were the Dallas Texans. He committed to his boys as a YMCA football and Little League Coach and an ever present game fan for his two boys and his six grandchildren. Virgil will be remembered as having a strong love and devotion to his family as demonstrated through his life.
He is preceded in death by his infant son, Gregory Mark Nash.
Survivors include his wife, Ouida Nash, of Garland, TX; son, Perry R. Nash of Garland, TX; son, Craig A. Nash and wife, Cindy, of Rockwall County, TX; grandchildren: Casey Nash (Carly) of Wylie, TX, Clinton Nash (Marla) of Dallas, TX, Ashley (Scott) Venable of Ft. Worth, TX, Christie (Matt) Childers of Rowlett, TX, Connor Nash (Peyton McClure) of Dallas, TX and Colton Nash of Dallas, TX; sister, Ola Katlic of Wichita Falls, TX; sister, Annie Vaughn of Vernon, TX and seven great grandchildren.
