Virginia Hazel Beckstead's Obituary
BECKSTEAD, VIRGINIA GILLS, January 28, 1923 ‘ June 5, 2008, 85, born in Murray, Utah January 28, 1923 passed away peacefully on June 5, 2008 after a three year struggle with Alzheimer’s. Virginia is preceded in death by her husband, Darrell, son Kenneth, and sister Mildred. A resident of Dallas since 1967, Virginia was an active member of the First Baptist Church ‘ Dallas and enjoyed participating in Mrs. Criswell Bible Study classes for over 30 years. Virginia worked as an executive secretary throughout here career and retired from the American Heart Association in the 1980’s. For the last 8 years of Darrell’s life she provided constant care while he fought kidney disease. Her strength and caring was a clear example of the love in their 61 years of marriage. Virginia is survived by her two sons, Roger and Alan, her grand children: Candace and Mark Mulvany, Diane and Phil Whitcomb, Ted Beckstead and her great grandson Boston Mulvany. The family would like to thank Danny Lerma and Steve Annala for all the love, care and support they gave Virginia during the last years of her life. Visitation will be from 2:00 ‘ 4:00 pm on Sunday, June 8, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held at 10:00 am Monday, June 9, 2008 at Restland Wildwood Chapel.
