Virginia Dean England's Obituary
Virginia Dean England lived almost her whole life in the Dallas area. She was married to her husband (the late Daniel B England) for 50 years; and they raised their 3 sons (David, Danny, and Dean Jonathan England) in Irving. Before marriage Virginia excelled in academics, earning a Linz pin each year of high school for straight A work. For 10 years after high school she worked for the telephone company and used her paycheck to help her mother with the bills. This devotion to her mother lasted a lifetime, and her mother lived for over 100 years. Mrs. England poured herself into her duties as wife and mother, making breakfast, lunch and dinner for a family of 5 every single day. The boys always had clean clothes to wear and snacks waiting for them when they got home from school. Jonny spent several stints in the hospital, and his mother was stead fastly there. Occasionally Virginia’s humble home was filled with hymns, played on her piano and sung in her beautiful singing voice. Later in life she gave sacrificially to her grandchildren. But what really set Virginia England apart was the fact that she never wished to be set apart or honored in any way. A favorite verse was “All we like sheep have gone astray. We have turned everyone to his own way. And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.” She saw her husband’s funeral, not as a time to glorify one of the sheep, as precious as he was; but as a chance to invite others to trust the same Good Shepherd her strong Christian spouse had tenaciously loved and revered. Certainly she sees her obituary in a similar light. Virginia England leaves behind her 3 sons, her grandchildren (Jessica and Charlie England), her nephew and niece (Mark and Robin Powell), her great friends Margie and Anna Mae, and her recent faithful friend Susan. We all will remember what she meant to us for the rest of our lives.
