Virginia Jean Kane's Obituary
Virginia Jean Kane (Mit) was born October 30, 1921 in Joplin, Missouri. Virginia graduated with a Bachelor in Education degree from the University of Missouri. She was a classically trained pianist, and she combined her love of music with training as a teacher first in Missouri, then Indiana, and finally in Richardson, Texas. She married Harry S. Kane in 1946, and together they raised 5 children. She and Harry liked many activities, including traveling, and especially as members of the choir at First Presbyterian Church Richardson. On retirement, Virginia volunteered at the Richardson Senior Center, and was instrumental in the formation of and awarded for her work with Visionaires, a support group for the blind. She is survived by her daughter Mary Bauer of Lehigh Acres, Florida ; her son Michael Kane of Richardson; her son Patrick and wife Allison Kane of Richardson; her son Timothy and wife Leslie Kane of Chappaqua, New York; grandchildren Patricia and husband Keith Ging; Daniel, Sean, and Erin Kane; and great-grandchildren Nathan, Luke, and Joshua Ging. The service for Virginia Kane will be held on Saturday, February 07, 2015 at 2:00pm at First Presbyterian Church of Richardson.
