Virginia S. Lokke's Obituary
Virginia S. Lokke passed away after a short illness on February 7, 2019.Virginia was born in Chicago, Illinois, on July 11, 1929, to Karl and Helen Selander. She was preceded in death by her parents, her devoted husband of 48 years Donald H. Lokke Sr., her oldest two sons Donald H. Lokke Jr. and John K. Lokke, and her younger brother Karl W. Selander, Jr. She is survived by her son Paul W. Lokke and her devoted daughter-in-law Lori A. Lokke. She is also survived by three grandchildren: Eric Lokke, Jenni Steele and Amanda Lokke, and three great-grandchildren.Virginia was loved by Jesus and reflected His love for others. She exhibited love, joy, peace, gentleness, kindness and forgiveness toward others. In her final days she anticipated seeing Jesus soon in her heavenly home and being reunited with all those who had gone before her.While attending Wheaton College, Virginia met Don Lokke Sr. whom she married upon graduation. Together they traveled to Wisconsin, Texas, Kansas, and Oklahoma before finally settling back in Texas in 1960. During this time she devoted herself to caring for her husband and raising their three sons.Once the boys were school age, she took a position as Dean of Admissions and Registrar at the University of Plano. After this, she took various positions in the registrar offices of the Dallas County Community College District. After obtaining a Real Estate license, she went on to sell real estate with Century 21 until her retirement.Virginia drew upon her strong faith in a loving God to carry her through the many adversities she faced; including the loss of her husband and two sons. She found a true community of love in her church family at Community Bible Chapel in Richardson. There she was a faithful prayer warrior and mentor of younger women.She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She will be greatly missed.Please join us as we celebrate the life of Virginia S.
