Virginia Lee Morrison's Obituary
Virginia Lee Morrison, a cherished resident of Plano, Texas, was born on February 3, 1940, and entered into eternal rest with the Lord, her heavenly family, and friends on February 28, 2025. Fittingly, her passing coincided with “Gather 25,” a global event encompassing 25 hours of prayer, fellowship, and worship—reflecting her deep belief in the power of prayer.
Born to George Henry Barber and Eunice Barber in Dallas, Texas, Virginia grew up with a strong foundation of faith and love. She graduated from Adamson High School in 1957 and soon after married the love of her life, Virgil Norman Morrison. Together, they built a beautiful life, sharing nearly 40 years of marriage until his passing.
Virginia was a devoted follower of Christ, a loving wife, an extraordinary mother and grandmother, and a steadfast friend. Known for her radiant spirit, she served as a dependable counselor, prayer warrior, and beacon of hope in her community. For over three decades, she was a familiar and welcoming presence at First Baptist Church Richardson, where she worked as the receptionist for the music office and secretary to the children’s music minister. Even after retiring, Virginia remained an active member, joyfully singing with the Goldenaires Choir. Her life was marked by countless acts of kindness, always accompanied by her uplifting smile, as she selflessly shared her God-given gifts with those in need.
Virginia is survived by her sons, Brad Morrison and his wife, Lisa, of McKinney, Texas, and Craig Morrison and his wife, Greta, of Allen, Texas; her grandchildren, Jason Morrison of Austin, Texas, and Lindsey Moore and her husband, Alexander, of Plano, Texas; her sister, Dorothy Moore of Wichita Falls, Texas; and a host of extended family members and cherished friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Virgil Norman Morrison; her parents, George and Eunice Barber of Duncanville, Texas; and her sister, Janice Quance of Dighton, Kansas.
Virginia’s legacy of faith, love, and service will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. She was a bright light in this world, and her spirit will continue to inspire those she touched with her unwavering devotion to God and her boundless compassion for others.
