Ginny was a wonderful Sister & Sister-in-law. When Ginny & Les would make their trips to Ohio, our kids would always be there to welcome them. The last trip they made… Ginny drove 82 MPH, all the way-got stopped, but no ticket! Must have been her smile that got her out of that one! We have wonderful memories traveling to Dallas – going to The Dallas Cowboys Stadium, South Fork Ranch, A Champagne Brunch at a Fancy Hotel. Good Pictures make Good Memories, going way back…time goes by way to fast! Ginny had a Wonderful smile, Laugh & Gleaming Eyes. Just wish we could of had more visits together. Dave, Susan, and family Memories are a way of holding onto the ones you love,the things you are,and the things you never want to lose. Ginny I have lots of memories of you,and the fun we had at home growing up. They are all good ones…right Ginny! We lived in Dayton until the depression and I remember you pinching me with your toes whenever I got too close to your side of the bed. We moved to Maria Stein, to live with GRMA Menker. Uncle John used his livestock truck to move our things. Remember running up and down the trucks ramps screaming IT STINKS! When you were in the 4th grade we moved to St Marys. When the war came and the boys went off to fight we both left school to work in the factory. You were about to be a Senior and I was to be a sophmore. We worked in the Woolen Mill together,went to BANK NITE every wednesday after work,went to many dances together. You met Les when he was a saleman there. And remember my blind date with you, when I met Don, because your friend couldn't go? Thats my best one! Thank you Ginny! Ginny you are now in a better place. I will see you again someday. Aunt Ginny was always a very lovely person in so many ways. She could talk to you and could make you feel special. She always had a smile for everyone. I remember our vacation to Texas after Dennis and I graduated. It was so much fun.We were all made to feel very welcomed. We as kids always wished that they did not live so far away as Ginny and Les could make you feel special. God Bless David, Susan and your beautiful families, remember the good times, and keep your family together. This I feel is one thing that Ginny and Les would strongly encourage you to do. God Bless. Aunt Ginny was a wonderful lady. I enjoyed visiting with her when they would come up north for their annual visits. Her laughter was contagious! She had the most beautiful eyes when she smiled and that was most of the time. I don't think I ever saw her frown. I enjoyed her stories which included many about her grandchildren. She liked to brag..but hey that is what Grandmas are suppose to do! I will cherish the memories that I do have of her and wish I could have had many more…Our deepest sympathy goes out to Susan, David and your families. Jill & Mike Albers

David and Susan, Sorry for your loss, I will always remember how easy it was to talk to your Mother. I remembered receiving a "Jolly Green Giant" kite when I was a lot younger and we did not know who sent the kite. We found out several years after the fact, (I was married) that your mother sent the kite. She told me while her and your Dad were visiting my parents. Your Mom and Dad were telling stories from their younger days and it was a very enjoyable evening. My condolences are with your family. I will always remember your Mother. Ginny always spoiled me. I guess it was because I was nine years younger. She gave me a china tea set when I was six and I treasured it dearly. When I was 11 she gave me my first plane flight to Atlanta, a vacation for the summer. David was just a toddler at the time and they lived in Decatur, GA. I remember not wanting to come home when Dad & Mom drove down to pick me up so I hid from them. She always reminded me about that summer. I really enjoyed hearing about their many trips they took; I believe Australia was her favorite. Her needlework was perfect, just like she kept her home. Neat as a pin. And she was always such a giver. Never forgetting a birthday, anniversary, and always sending a fruitcake at Christmas. GINNY WOULD TAKE ME TO THE SCHOOL PLAYGROUND ON PINE ST DURING THE WAR YEARS, 1941-45, WHEN I WAS ONLY 3-7 YRS OLD. WHEN I WAS 10 YRS OLD I WOULD RIDE MY BIKE DOWN HIGH ST TO WATCH HER & LES'S FIRST HOME BEING BUILT. IN 1973, GINNY WAS THE FIRST PERSON TO CALL ME WHILE I WAS ON ALERT AT RICKENBACKER AFB, OH., WHEN WE HAD A VERY BAD AIRCRAFT ACCIDENT, TO INSURE THAT I WAS SAFE. I AM THANKFUL THAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO VISIT WITH GINNY MONTHLY WHILE I HAVE LIVED IN TX SINCE 2002. I WAS ABLE TO BE WITH HER ON HER LAST BIRTHDAY PARTY, MARCH 27, 2009. I HAVE A NICE PHOTO REMEMBERANCE OF THAT DAY. GOD SPEED ON A WING & A PRAYER TO BE WITH LES.

I have watched Alzheimer's slowly erase my mother over the past 7 or so years. I saw her personality being replaced with confussion, and as it would take away, she would fight! She would have me write down my name when I would come to visit, instead of looking at me to remember who I was, she looked down to my name on paper. Not only did it take her amazing memory, it took everything. I watched this to her last breath. My daughters, Jamie and Michelle stood at my side during mom's last hours and at this most difficult time we spoke of how hard she kept fighting. Her fight is now over, may she rest in peace. I will miss my mother as I have missed my dad, may they now be forever together (Hokey Pokey you'all). As a tribute to mom, "Make a memory today and hold it dearly".
