Virginia Ruth Yelton's Obituary
YELTON, RUTH V. (CAMPBELL) born January 6, 1920 in Amarillo, TX and passed away on July 6, 2010 in Houston, TX. She is survived by her loving children: daughter, Dee Ann Sollenbarger; sons, Steve and Roger Yelton; son-in-law, Don; daughters-in-law, Cherie and Melor; grandchildren: Adilah, Casey, Sharif, Cooper and Marissa who all knew her as Mimi. She graduated from Texas Tech in 1941 with a Batchelor of Science degree. In 1942 she married her lifelong sweetheart, Fred L. Yelton. During World War II she served as secretary to the Ordinance Committee. After they retired to Dallas she worked in Neiman Marcus Couture for 10 years. She was also a member of the Richardson Republican Womens group. She was devoted to her family and constant help mate to her husband of 63 years, always placing others before herself. Graveside services will be held at 11:00AM, Friday, July 9, 2010 at Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
