Vivian Little's Obituary
With deeply heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Vivian Boyd Little, who entered into rest on April 7, 2025, at 1:50 PM in Mesquite, Texas, surrounded by her loving family. She was reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Riley Patrick Little.
Vivian was born on November 6, 1926, in Combine, Texas, to Loren and Mae Boyd. A woman of intelligence, grace, and faith, Vivian graduated as valedictorian of the Seagoville High School Class of 1943. She was known for her athleticism, particularly for her ability to dribble and shoot a basketball with both hands. She went on to attend Baylor University before marrying the love of her life, Riley, on December 16, 1945, shortly after his return from service in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II.
Vivian dedicated her early career to being a private secretary with the Veterans Administration and later joined Riley in running their family business, Martin Stationery Company in Dallas. A woman of deep faith and servant leadership, she was a longtime member of Lakeside Baptist Church after moving to the White Rock Lake area. She poured her heart into her church community - whether it was singing in the choir, leading Bible studies or teaching Sunday School. She always made sure to participate in church life, including the bowling league and the Triple L Club.
She and Riley first met at Ervay Street Baptist Church, where they began a lifetime of cherished friendships. Their close-knit group continued to gather regularly for fellowship and games of 42, creating a legacy of love and connection that endured through the decades.
Vivian’s life was one marked by devotion - to her family, her faith, and her community. She will be remembered for her kindness, quick wit, gentle strength, and the way she poured love into every relationship.
She is survived by her daughter, Teresa Price, and her husband, Michael; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and her sister, Etta Wright.
A funeral service to honor the life of Vivian will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, April 16, 2025 at Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Interment will follow at 11:30 AM, immediately after conclusion of the chapel service at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in the Veteran's II Garden.
