Vivien Louise Collins' Obituary
COLLINS, VIVIEN LOUISE Born December 3, 1909 in Dallas, Texas passed from death to life in heaven Wednesday, May 20, 2009 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Jesus said, “I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me though he dies, yet shall he live and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die.” John 11: 25-26. After graduating from Forest Avenue High School, Vivien began her career as a legal secretary and later as an insurance underwriter. Vivien met her husband Fred at South Dallas Christian Church. They were married in 1933 and celebrated 69 years of marriage before Fred passed away in 2002. Fred and Vivien owned Collins Metal Products for 60 years. Vivien taught Sunday School to children and adults and sang in the choir. Surviving are one daughter, Judith Madden, and husband, Hugh Madden, 4 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM at Oak Cliff Christian Church, 1222 W. Kiest, Dallas with interment following at Grove Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM Monday at Restland Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Oak Cliff Chirstian Church address above.
