HOLCOMBE, W. EARL, 81, passed away February 12, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his wife, Jurhee Curtis and her children, Ken and Becky; sons, Ronnie and wife, Kathy, Randy and wife, Jackie; daughter-in-law, Betty (wife of deceased son Bobby); grandchildren, Ryan, Blair, Stephen, Barrett, Derek, Daniel, Haley, Caroline, Olivia, Thornton, Audrey, Christian and Catherine; brother, Charlie and wife, Darlene. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Barbara Jones Holcombe, mother of his three sons. A native of Dallas, he graduated from Highland Park High School and attended SMU where he became a huge Mustangs fan. He spent his career in sales, but his passion was sports; coaching his 3 boys and later watching his grandkids sports activities. He raised his family in Houston, but returned to Dallas following the loss of Barbara in 1982. A Celebration of Earl’s life and faith will be held at Lovers Lane United Methodist Church on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 4:30 pm in the Shipp Chapel. The family request that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the American Heart Association.
