Wade Russell Ropp's Obituary
Wade Russell Ropp let go of his physical embodiment to join his spiritual family on Saturday, October 8th, 2011. Archangel Raphael and all the angels of comfort were there to assist him in his journey. Born on September 30, 1930, he was preceded in death by his parents Wade Clifford and Burnadette Ropp, and his son Wade Clifford Ropp II. He is survived by his daughter Deborah Alice Rogers (husband George) of College Station, son Kirk Howard Ropp of Richardson, daughter Sherry Lee Rainwater (husband David) of Beaumont, long time dear friend and companion, Patsy Carson. He is also survived by brother Melvin Ropp (wife Crystal) of Dallas, niece and nephews Rosalie, Melvin Jr and Shane and his granddaughter Lauren Ropp and grandson Taylor Rainwater. After attending the schools of hard knocks and serving in the military, Mr. Ropp settled in Texas and became a successful businessman and entrepreneur. He was a partner in Uptown Auto Sales, and later founded, owned and operated Double R Car Co., until his retirement in 1997. He enjoyed his family and friends and the Texas State Fair, and an occasional wager. He loved to play golf and cards, and share his insights on life, the market, people and politics. He celebrated his 34th year in recovery as an active friend of Bill W. Throughout his life he never quit trying to help his family, friends and the less fortunate. He continued his personal growth even in the final minutes of his journey. He never quit trying. He will be missed by many. Memorial may be made to the Salvation Army & Magdeline House in Dallas, TX.
