Walter Harvey Coleman Jr.'s Obituary
Born July 1, 1918 in Dallas, TX and passed away January 7, 2012 in Ennis, TX. He is preceded in death by mother: Stella Pitchford Coleman, son: Walter Harvey Coleman, III, son: William Richard Coleman, grandson: Andrew Jackson Rogers, III, sister: Laura Coleman Taylor. Walter is survived by Janis Childers Coleman, Daughter: Laura Jo and husband Jeff Jeffers: son: Michael and Dr. Anne Coleman; son: Dr. Charles and Linda Coleman; daughter-in-law: Cathy Coleman; 7 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a niece and a nephew. Walter graduated from North Dallas High School and SMU. He retired from the US Navy as a Captain and belonged to the Trinity Valley #1048 Masons. Walter worked for Sears Roebuck prior to entering the Navy. He was a CPA and retired as Executive Vice President of United American Insurance Company, He and Janis loved to travel. He played golf, read, watched TV and loved his animals. Walter was a lifetime member of Dallas Chapter of Texas Society CPA’s. He was also a member of Beta Gamma Sigma, Alpha Sigma Lambda, and Phi Eta Sigma. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm Monday, January 9, 2012. Graveside services will be held at 2pm Tuesday, January 10, 2012 at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.
