Walter Leslie Meek, Jr. was born on October 13, 1927 in St. Louis, MO and passed away on February 4, 2012 in McKinney, TX. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Meek Call, his son Steven Gregory Meek, Sr., and his wife of 29 years, Joyce Porter Meek. He is survived by his step-daughter Claudia Joyce Porter and husband Jason, granddaughter Myka Nicole, daughter Rhonda Richmond and husband Greg, grandson Tracy Morgan and wife Shannon, granddaughter Leslie Jones, and 6 great-grandchildren. Walter is also survived by his grandson Steven Gregory Meek, Jr. and wife Kristina, and great-grandchildren Haley and Joey; his grandson Samuel Joseph Meek and wife Jaime, great-grandhildren Amber and Samuel; his granddaughter Jackie Brown and husband Mark, and great-grandchild Hunter; step-son C. Billy Porter, wife Bridgette, his step-son Sandy Porter and wife Betty, step-son Roger Porter and wife Belinda. Walter had a long life with many mistakes, the last 30 years he had a chance to have a “do over”, he maintained sober living and devoted his life to God and married the woman of his dreams. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or the Alzheimer’s Association.
