Walter B. Mitchell's Obituary
MITCHELL, WALTER B. Born July 2, 1915, Emory, TX died April 15, 2008 while living in Murchison, TX with his wife, Carol Cooper Mitchell who survives him. Walter was a member of First Christian Church, Plano, TX from early childhood and was educated at Plano High School and a member of the Plano Wildcat Football team. He served two years in WWII aboard the USS Cape Hatteras (Merchant Marines) in the South Pacific. His life work (after Navy duty) was as an Engineer for Southern Pacific Railroad for 30 years without an accident. Walter is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Beulah Mitchell; brothers, Vernon and Ray Mitchell; grandsons, David and Robert Mitchell. He is survived by his wife, Carol Mitchell; sisters, Dorothy Johnston, and Peggy Mitchell, both of Plano, TX; his sons, Dexter Mitchell, Doyal Tucker, Michael Ragle and Brian Ragle; grandchildren, Kerri, John, James, Nicole and Samuel; and nephews.
