Walter William Scheible's Obituary
SCHEIBLE, WALTER WILLIAM Born on a farm in Electra, TX. He married Leslie Leona (Pitt) June 7, 1942 in Electra. Walter served in WWII and was awarded the Bronze Star as a P-38 Fighter Crew Chief whose plane completed 200 combat missions without any abortions due to mechanical problems. The family moved to Dallas, TX in 1952 where Walter went into self employed sales. In retirement, he & his wife, Leslie traveled to Polka festivals throughout the States if they were not home dancing with friends in the local polka clubs. His love of music created ‘The Old Timers’ as he and Leslie played the accordions and entertained at local nursing homes and senior centers during the 90s. Walter is survived by his wife of 66 years, Leslie; children, Hank Scheible and wife, Lyn, of Denton, Jan Fletcher and husband, Ken, of Sherman, Will Scheible and wife, Yolanda, of Dallas and Judy Malone and husband, Ed, of Dallas; 6 grandchildren and families; 11 great grandchildren; 3 sisters and their families, as well as many friends. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 PM, Monday, August 4, 2008 in Restland Funeral Home. Service will be 12:30 PM, Tuesday, August 5, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment will follow at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the John Franklin Sprague VFW Post 6796, 9179 Garland Road, Dallas, TX 75218.
