Walter Lee Stone's Obituary
Walter Lee Stone, age 92, of Lake Kiowa, Texas, passed away in Denton, Texas after a brief illness. He was born to Charley and Lavada Stone, and arrived on Thanksgiving Day, November 27, 1930, in Booneville, Arkansas.
During his lifetime, Walter lived in Arkansas, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Texas. Walter served in the U.S. Army during the Korean conflict. He retired from General Motors and worked for Richardson Independent School District. He enjoyed spending time with his kids and grandkids, bowling, and occasionally fishing.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Corrine; parents Charley and Lavada; brothers Richard, Roy, Charles, Alvin, and Donald; sisters LaVerne and Addie; and son Baby Boy Stone.
He is survived by daughter, Connie Deweese and Gillis of Lake Kiowa, TX; sons, Ronald Stone and Elaine of Midwest City, OK; Michael Stone and Lorri of Denton, TX; and Steven Stone and Sheila of Burleson, TX; grandchildren, Jasmine Hipp and Corey; Leah Cobb and Ryan; Jonathan Stone; Katherine Tullio and Jordan; Jade Uliasz and Drew; Harrison Stone; Christopher Bettis; Jarrah Chism; and Zoe Stone; great-grandsons, Houston Hipp, Hudson Hipp, and Grayson Cobb; as well as many nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, friends, and nurses Gloria and Susan.
Walter leaves his loved ones with unforgettable memories, loving stories, and a legacy of faith, love, hard work, service, generosity, and humor. He will be sincerely missed by his loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved him.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Walter Stone furnished by Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243 (972) 238-7111. Services are scheduled for 10 am Friday, June 30, 2023, at Restland Funeral Home Wildwood Chapel, with visitation at 9 am and graveside at 11 am
