Walter West "Walt" Riley's Obituary
RILEY, WALTER WEST “WALT”, 62, passed away September 16, 2013. He was born July 31, 1951, in Dallas, Texas. He attended W. T. White High School and received his BS in Mechanical Engineering from SMU in early 1974. Walt joined Bell Helicopter Textron in September 1974, working several helicopter and tilt rotor programs there, and had currently held the position of Technical Fellow for Drive Systems at Bell. He is preceded in death by his father, Melvin A. Riley, Jr., his mother, Vivian Walterine West Riley, and his brothers, Melvin A. Riley III and Michael Anthony Riley. He is survived by his sister, Pamela Ann Riley Moize Rittenberry, his cousins, Jere Forman and Carol Blassingame, 2 nieces, and 4 nephews. A memorial service will be held at Restland on Saturday, September 21, 2013 at 2:30 p.m. at the Memorial Chapel (West Entrance) with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Walter Riley’s name to the American Red Cross.
