Wanda Faye (Archer Petr's Obituary
Passed away November 17, 2007. She was born on August 16, 1929 in Caddo Mills, TX, to parents Lyle Winfrey Archer and Vivian Bam Hill Archer. Wanda enjoyed singing and playing all types of music, fashioning ceramic creations, baking sweets, playing dominoes, and dancing. She also loved going to Vegas or Shreveport to play the slot machines. Above all, Wanda was a natural caretaker for the young ones in her life, and she cared for and loved her family greatly. She was preceded in death on June 4, 1998, by her husband of 47 years, Charlie Petr. She and Charlie were married on February 17, 1951 and they were blessed with three children who survive her: Vivian Cheryl (Cherri)Petr, Vicki Carol Petr Sims (Gene Sims), and Randall Karel (Randy) Petr. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelly Lyne Sims Tucker (Darrin Tucker), Russell Eugene (Rusty) Sims, and Leslie Kaye Sims; and great-grandchildren, Jason Tyler Sims and Kendall Lyne Tucker. Visitation will be from 6 to 8PM Tuesday, November 20, 2007 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be at 1PM Wednesday, November 21, 2007 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow in Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to SPJST Lodge #84, 2625 Floyd Street Dallas, TX 75201.
