Wanda Joyce Brookins' Obituary
BROOKINS, WANDA JOYCE born June 20, 1941 in Emory, Texas and passed away April 7, 2013 in Austin, Texas. Wanda graduated from Rains County High School in 1959. She then moved to Dallas and worked for The First National Bank for several years. She was an active member of the PTA during her children’s school years. In 1988 she returned to banking as a teller with Chase Bank. She remained with Chase until she retired in 2006. She moved to Austin in 2011 to be closer to her sister’s and daughter’s families. Preceded in death by husband, Roy Brookins; parents, Gil and Grace McTaggart; brothers, Jimmie and Charles McTaggart. Wanda is survived by daughter and son-in-law, Dee Dee & Greg Bingham;son, David Brookins; granddaughters, Ashley and Allie Bingham; grandsons, Tag, Gannon and Nash Brookins; sister and brother-in-law, Lyla & Ed Hayward a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Family will receive friends on Friday, April 12, 2013 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Saturday, April 13, 2013 at 10:00 AM at Restland Funeral Home. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The American Cancer Society.
