Wanda will be missed by many!
Wanda was 1 of the first 2 residents at Grace House that I met, while making arrangements to bring my Mom there. Wanda saw me & she said hello, wanted to know if I had someone there, then asked if my Mom played cards & liked Bible study:). I can still hear her say "OH GOOD, I can't wait til she gets here" when I said yes:) Mom was 1 room down from Wanda, and she was true to her word, she stopped & got Mom all the time. Staff called Wanda, Dorothy & Mom the "little trio" as they went visiting every time they had a chance. She was always a ray of sunshine, lighting up a room with just her beautiful smile. Mom was moved next door to the Alzheimers Unit but we popped over to visit House 3 all the time & Wanda was always so happy to see us. I was saddened to hear she had fell & broke her hip & kept in contact with Maegan through her recovery. Even though my little Mom also fell & broke her hip, she did not pull through & passed on 02-22-09 – we still go up & visit Buddy & Miss Dorothy frequently. We went Xmas eve & Buddy told us precious little Wanda had passed during the night. I had been watching for her obit & not seen it, so I went in search of it today & am SO happy I found it. I just want you to know, she touched our lives deeply. I am sad she has left this world because we will SO miss seeing her. But am happy for HER because I know she is happy, pain free now, walking streets of gold & worshipping with the King. I have no doubt her smile is lighting up Heaven! I also have no doubt she has gathered some card buddies & one of those would be my Mom. Please know she will be GREATLY missed by MANY here in Lubbock TX!
