Wanda Jo Fitzgerald's Obituary
Wanda Jo Landess Fitzgerald passed peacefully from this life at 89 and 11 months on December 28, 2020. Born in Brownsfield, Texas to Grace and Check Landess on January 31, 1931. She grew up along the Rio Grande River in a small border town, Quemada, Texas. Graduated from Uvalde High School and attended Trinity University in San Antonio. She moved to Dallas in the late 1950s and eventually worked and retired from Texas Instruments in 1996.
Preceded in death by her husband, Robert Fitzgerald, sister Bettie and parents, Grace and Check Landess. She will be missed by nieces, April Adams, Nina Rogers, nephew Ron Adams, and numerous friends and extended family. She grew especially close to Ruby Walter during her last few years.
Wanda was an active Christian and a member of the Josey Lane Church of Christ. She and Robert opened their homes to many gatherings and guests. She never met a stranger and was always asking to help others. She cleaned houses, raked leaves for others, ran errands and took people to appointments.
