Wanda Ruth Helms (Butler)'s Obituary
Wanda Ruth Helms (Butler) was born on March 6, 1935, in Hawkins, TX to Pauline Cumbie Shirley (mother) and Mertus Cumbie (father). She is preceded in death by her two older sisters, LaVerne Paul and Louise Kirby, both of whom she loved dearly. Wanda graduated from Adamson High School in Dallas and married her high school sweetheart, Paul Derwin Helms in 1953. Wanda worked for Garland I.S.D as a copy center operator for 30 years. She was fastidious in her work and in her life. Wanda is survived by her son, Jacky Paul Helms and his wife, Darla and their daughter Rachel Helms of Grapevine, TX; Paula Lea Helms (daughter) of Dallas, TX; Shelley (niece) and Oliver Walley (Lewisville); Linda (niece) and Larry Mayse of Alpharetta, Georgia; Don and Caren Paull; Austin, and many nieces and nephews. Wanda enjoyed family, friends, flowers, teatime at the Dallas Arboretum and dogs. A private graveside ceremony will be held for the family as a later date.
