Wanda Magill's Obituary
Wanda Fae Magill passed from this life on September 24, 2015 in Mesquite, Texas at the age of 92. She was born October 2, 1922 in Frisco, Texas, the first of Charles and Eunice Worth’s 4 children. She graduated from Forest Avenue High School in Dallas before meeting her husband of 73 years, Charles “Chuck” Magill. The couple met at the Sears-Roebuck restaurant where Wanda was working and they married 6 weeks later on April 25, 1942 in Rockwall, Texas. While Chuck served in the navy during World War II, Wanda worked the night shift as a bomb inspector for the war effort. The couple eventually moved to Dallas, where they raised their 4 children: Harold “Whiz,” Dennis, Gayla, and Rhonda. In 1954, Wanda and her husband joined Meneely Memorial Presbyterian Church, which later became Eastminister Presbyterian, and remained active members throughout the years. Wanda stayed home to care for her children until her youngest daughters reached middle school, at which time she went back to work as a bookkeeper for LeDew Sprinkler. After their retirement, Wanda and Chuck moved to Rowlett, where Wanda continued to be closely involved in the lives of her children and grandchildren. Wanda is remembered fondly by her children and grandchildren for her doting nature, seemingly effortless housekeeping and hostess abilities, and for her delicious homemade pies. She is survived by her loving husband of 73 years, Charles “Chuck” Magill, brother Milton Worth, sister Joyce DuPriest, as well as her 4 children, 6 grandchildren, and 6 great grandchildren. Memorial service held on Sunday, 9/27/2015 at 2:00PM at Eastminster Presbyterian Church, 6550 Samuell Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75228. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
