Wanda J. Smith's Obituary
SMITH, WANDA J. This world was a better place for 85 years because of one person; our mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, sister, wife and friend, Wanda “Junebug” Smith. But on the greatest love days of all time, Valentines Day, February 14, 2013, Heaven became a better and happier place because a special lady went home. She is finally now with her Father, her husband, her mother, her daddy, her sister, her granddaughter, and countless friends. June was one of a kind, she had that special way about her that no one will ever be able to replace. Because of that, all of us that knew her so well, will feel a tremendous void in our lives. She was so many things to so many of us, a nurturer, a healer of “boo-boos” and broken hearts, a listener, a talker, a trophy winning bowler, a dancer, an avid 42 player, and a seamstress that sewed anything from dance recital outfits to tiny Barbie clothes. She crocheted and baked homemade bread for her church communion, was a devout Methodist, and talked about her “Father” throughout her life, she had fun and had a great sense of humor with a great laugh, she was the very best mother and grandmother anyone could wish for. She will be missed beyond words. She is survived by her son, Steven Randall Smith and wife, Annie of Sachse, Texas; her daughters, Linda Gail Paluga and partner, Jamie Harrington of Irving, Texas, and Claudia Marie Smith Mullins and husband, Mike Mullins of Kerrville, Texas. She has two grandsons, Michael John Smith and wife, Michelle of Blueridge, Texas., and Sgt. John Kaleb Cherry of Ft. Campbell, Kentucky; and one step grandson, Shane Cherry and partner, Lisa of Lewisville, Texas. She has six granddaughters, Stacey Marie Clark of Thomaston, Georgia, Ashley Gail Paluga (deceased), Andrea Osei and husband, William of Wichita Falls, Texas, Magan Watz and husband, Steve of McKinney, Texas, Kyra Dressler and husband, Joe of Baltimore, Maryland, and Kendra Taliaferro and husband, Kyle of McKinney, Texas. She has many great grandchildren, Taylor, Josh, Michael Donovan, Zac, Daniel, Zhane, Hendrix, Mayson, Brooklyn, Sage, Major, Saylor, Jackson, Maybrie, Lillian, Olivia, and Karder. Graveside Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, February 18, 2013 at Restland Memorial Park, Garden of Inspiration.
