Ward Sims III's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts, but hopeful spirits, that the family of Ward “Bud” Sims relates news of his passing from this world into the arms of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Ward Sims was born on October 20, 1948 in Dayton, Ohio and passed away on January 9, 2016 in Dallas, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother Nadine; father, James and sister, Cara Sue. He is survived by wife of 34 years Sandra Sims; son, Daniel Sims; daughter, Jessica Lopez; son in law, Salvador Lopez Jr; grandson, Andrew Lopez; granddaughters, Vanessa and Valerie Lopez; his beloved pets Ginger and Snowball. He proudly served in the US Marines Corp during the Vietnam War. After completing his service he worked several years as a maintenance supervisor at Richland Apartments. Bud enjoyed fishing, gardening, watching game shows and sports especially football. His favorite singer was Elvis. Bud was a great man full of joy and laughter always willing to help others in any way he could. He always had to be very early for his appointments. He was very brave and fought till the end. Bud’s biggest treasure was his family and loved spending time with them. He will be greatly missed by his family of whom look forward to seeing him again in eternal life. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 14, 2016 from 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 600 S. Jupiter Rd. Richardson, TX 75081. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
