Warren Leroy Brown's Obituary
Our beloved Warren Leroy Brown (Bomber Brown), was born out of the Union of John Allen Brown and Doris Beatrice (Floyd) Brown on June 26th, 1947. Warren was the oldest of two children of Mr. and Mrs. Brown. He was born in Atlantic City, New Jersey. Shortly after his birth, his parents moved him to New York where he grew up and developed his easy going persona, his firm yet gentle demeanor, and his love for family and friends. Warren was always an excellent student. During his teen years he made several life changing decisions that would have a major effect on him for the rest of his life. At age 14, he accepted Jesus as his Lord and Savior through catechism training. He started playing basketball in junior high school and by the time he was in high school, he was the talk of the New York City with the likes of Tiny Archbold, Kareem Abdul Jabbar, Eddie Fogler and many others. They called him Bomber Brown after Joe Louis, the Brown Bomber. Then he joined the Marine Corp, where he was wounded in Vietnam and gain the Purple Heart, along with other honors as well. Warren also had a love for all types of music. It showed as he found solace in music and he mastered the drums, the trumpet and in his latter years, the guitar. Warren’s Grace and Humble heart was always present but really surfaced when around people. His kindness and love for others, was constant and very evident. Warren was a man of great spiritual strength which was always betrayed in his faith, through his many many good deeds. It was some years later, in December of 1976 when he met the love of his life Colette Weston. That love was instant the day he laid eyes on Colette, (Cooka-a-look, as he would call her), and that soul uniting love brought forth a Holy Union and their souls were now one. Warren’s latter 30 or so years were spent in Dallas Texas where he went back to college to the fulfill one of his many dreams of helping others directly, through physical therapy. Warren’s love for family, life, and friends was unconditional and seem to never ever waiver. After seeing his family grow to three generations, on August 30th, 2016 at 4:19 a.m., this great great man heard the voice of our Lord, Jesus Christ and was called home. From Warren and Colette’s loving Union came four children and he is survived by all four: Jerohn and wife Charyl, Damon and wife Michele, Tara Chante, and Jamaal Warren. Warren’s legacy will be cherished by his children and his daughter-in-laws, his sister; Camille Rochelle Brown Carpenter and husband, Walter Carpenter: Nine beautiful grandchildren he loved so very much: Jaela, Arriana, Davin, Jayden, Jordan, Anaya, Jaslynn, Taysia and Ta’Mya, two nieces; Camille Beatrice Carpenter and Latanya Yvette Carpenter Collier; and a hosts of cousins, relatives and countless number of friends.
