Warren Ward Farrar's Obituary
FARRAR, WARREN WARD 87, of Farmer’s Branch, Texas passed peacefully at his home to his eternal reward on April 28, 2013 surrounded by his family. Born in Rocket, Texas, Staff Sergeant Warren honorably served his country in WWII as a radar officer posted on naval ships in both the Atlantic and Pacific theaters. After the war in the early days of television, he joined the local CBS affiliate in Dallas, KDFW, where he spent his entire working career – retiring as the head of Engineering in 1991. He was widely respected and admired by business associates, friends, acquaintances, family and was a long time member of Northway Baptist church. Warren was always ready to lend a helping hand to friends and family, and his common sense advice was often sought by all who knew and admired him. Aside from caring for his family and home, Warren enjoyed golf and played several times a week, walking the 18 holes with his clubs into his eighties. One of his proudest accomplishments were the four holes-in-one he achieved on Dallas area golf courses. Warren’s integrity, sense of humor, and calm, caring disposition made him popular among friends and neighbors who showed the family great kindnesses through the years. He is survived by his faithful wife of 65 years, Isobel, as well as two sons, Steve of Scottsdale, Arizona and his wife, Diana and son, Terry of Frisco, Texas and his life partner, Sheri; brother, Wayne and his wife, Ruth of McKinney, Texas; and grandchildren, Lori and Adam, as well as three great grandchildren. He was also loved by his brother-in-law, George Bearden and his many nieces and nephews from the Bearden family including Lin, his wife, Martha and their children, Catherine, Jessica and Victoria; Tony and his wife, Cindi and their children, Lauren, Savannah, Noah, Joshua, Landry, Jakob, Zachary, Katie, and Gideon; and Kim and her husband, David and their children, Emily, John, Michael, and Brittany. Very close to Warren was Raymond Hollabaugh and his wife, Glenda of San Angelo, Texas, and their children, Joni and Roger. Warren loved The Lord, and The Lord welcomed him through the blessing of Our Lord Jesus Christ into Heaven, where he will wait to greet his family. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Restland Memorial Park, where a viewing will be held from 5:00 PM thru 7:00 PM Thursday, May 2, 2013. His services for family and friends will be held on Friday, May 3, 2013 at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
