Warren H. Graham's Obituary
Graham, Warren Harding Apr. 5, 1922 – Sept. 14, 2009 Of Carrollton, Texas, died September 14, 2009. He was a man with great curiosity and a wonderful sense of humor. He was the beloved husband of the late Pearl Lucille Graham; caring father of Sherry Kiser, Dianna Knight and Cindy Mitchell; adored “Pa Pa” to Kristen Knight; Phillip Knight and wife, Angie; Katy Kiser McNeal and husband, Dale; Sarah Marquardt and husband, Bert; Amy McGough and husband, Nathan; and Josh and Zach Mitchell. He was great-grandfather to Adriano Mungioli, Ava Osborne, Mason and Natalie Knight, and Emily and Alexa McGough. Warren was born in 1922 in Shamrock, Oklahoma. He attended Oklahoma A&M University and in 1943 married Pearl Lucille Barber, beginning 63 years of marriage. During World War II, he undertook one of the more daring jobs, serving in the Army Air Forces as navigator on board a B-24 of the 458th Bombardment Group Heavy. His plane was the lead in his squadron when it was shot down over France. He was later rescued by Allied Forces and received the Certificate of Valor for his courage and devotion to duty. After the war, he moved his family to Texas. With an unquenchable thirst for knowledge, he spent his professional career in pharmaceutical sales and research. He was fascinated by medical studies and breakthroughs. His love of architecture and golfing led him to Lake Kiowa, Texas, where he designed and built his dream home. In his later years, he surrounded himself by adoring grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral will be held Saturday, September 19, at 3:00 p.m. at Wildwood Chapel, Restland Memorial Park.
