Wayne Douglas Johnson's Obituary
Wayne Douglas Johnson was born on August 2, 1933 in Dallas, Texas, and passed away on July 18, 2011 in Garland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Worth and Ruby Johnson and his granddaughter, Natalie Johnson. Wayne is survived by his wife of 59 years, Shirley Ann Johnson; his brother, Jerry Johnson and his wife Shirley, of Winnsboro, Texas; his children, Susan Abbett and her husband Brian, Michael Johnson and his wife Sherrie, Kevin Johnson, and Cara Mergel and her husband Thomas; 9 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. He retired from Kraft Foods Transportation Department in 1996 after 37 years. Family will receive friends on Thursday, July 21, 2011 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, July 22, 2011 at Restland’s Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to either American Cancer or Alzheimer’s research.
