Wayne Edgar Lott's Obituary
Wayne Edgar Lott, 86, of Dallas passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020. He was born February 14, 1934 in Houston, Texas, to the late Henry Edgar and Amy (Russell) Lott. Wayne attended Lamar High School in Houston. He enrolled at the University of Texas, was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon and obtained his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration. He proudly served in the United States Amy as an air traffic controller stationed in Biloxi, Mississippi.
While at the University of Texas, he met Susan Elizabeth Sibbitt whom he married on January 21, 1961 in San Antonio, Texas. Together, they raised four sons.
Wayne began his career working for Associate Investments in Houston, Wichita, Kansas and Oklahoma City. In 1969, he moved to Dallas to take a position with Refinery Castings Company working with his family. He successfully led the company for more than 35 years and helped transform the business from an oil and gas centric product platform to a diversified model.
Wayne was a long-time member of the Dallas Athletic Club where he loved playing golf and cards with his friends. He also enjoyed traveling and spending time with family. He was an avid sports enthusiast and enjoyed coaching youth sports for his sons’ teams and passionately rooting for the University of Texas.
In addition to his parents, Wayne is preceded in death by his brother, Gerald Lott. Along with his wife, Susan, he is survived by his four children, Charles (Mandy) Lott, Crews (Vonda) Lott, Bradley (Corey) Lott and Thomas (Carrie) Lott, and his brother Tom (Mary) Lott. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
Wayne will be interred at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be planned at a later date.
