Wayne Schiska's Obituary
SCHISKA, WAYNE GEORGE was born in Chicago, Illinois on August 11, 1937. He passed away on July 4, 2012. As a child he was a Junior Forest Ranger and a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Wayne spent 3 years in the Army earning the rank of Sergeant with most of the time spent in Germany. After the army he went back to college at Southern Methodist University, where he graduated magna cum laude with a degree in Fine Arts. His career has included professional photography, restaurant management, production coordination for film and television, and radio production. He has photographs in numerous educational books and has won many awards for his photography. Wayne met his loving wife Joyce while working at an educational publishing company in Chicago. They were married 40 years and have spent most of their married life in Dallas. They did not have biological children, but did have loved ones that they considered their daughter and son as well as five “grandchildren”. He also leaves a lovely little Lhasa Apso named Sweetea. He is survived by wife, Joyce, brother, Laurence Schiska of Ft. Myers, FL, sister-in- law, Elaine Jones of Dallas, and many nieces, nephews, and friends,who loved him for the wonderful man he was. His beautiful face and vibrant personality will be missed by many. He is preceded in death by his father, Martin Schiska, mother, Lois Schiska, and sister, Marlowe Linden. A private family service was held at Restland Funeral Home on July 7, 2012. Later this year there will be a celebration of his life and works.
