Wayne Eston Scrivener's Obituary
Wayne Eston Scrivener, devoted husband, loving father, and beloved grandfather, peacefully passed in his home surrounded by loved ones on Oct 5, 2022, at the age of 89.
Wayne was born in Mobile, Alabama. He served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Marine Corps. After his military service, Wayne earned degrees in Chemistry and Biology from the University of Alabama. The majority of Wayne’s professional career was spent serving at the Food & Drug Administration where he retired as an FDA Investigator.
Wayne loved spending time as a greeter at Temple Baptist Church, reading his Bible, enjoying musicals, watching football (particularly the Alabama Crimson Tide and the Dallas Cowboys), listening to old records, and spending time with his loving family. He will be remembered for his wit and intellect, as well as his love for music, mustard, his family, and the Lord.
Wayne met and married the love of his life, Jackie Parker, in Oklahoma City. They recently celebrated 59 years of marriage.
Wayne was preceded in death by his dear parents, Wayne Scrivener and Ellen Griffing. He is survived by his devoted wife and loving companion, Jackie. Wayne is the loving father of Mark (Rae), Jana (Jimmy), and the proud grandfather of Allie, Caelan, Parker (Christine), Megan (Dustin), Lauren, and Maizy.
He will be fondly remembered and dearly missed by all who were blessed to know him. Per Wayne’s request, he will have a private burial at the DFW National Cemetery officiated by his beloved pastor and dear friend, Richard Wallace, and surrounded by his loving family.
