I had Mr Hughes at BA for Latin American history. He was an inspirational teacher…I wanted to be like him as a teacher. Deep sympathy for your loss but gratitude that I knew him as a teacher and mentor.
Mr. Hughes was one of my favorite teachers at BA. He made history fun and exciting!! He is the reason I became a teacher!!
I loved, loved, loved Mr Hughes as my Texas History instructor at Eastfield in the early '80s. I returned to school after my kids entered DISD so I was more of a mature student than most and had had perhaps more experience in comparing educators than most of my classmates. Mr Hughes was the best…..a breath of fresh air. He was engaging, informative – knew his stuff, and inspiring. I looked forward to hearing HIS Texas History.
