Wendell Ray Emmons' Obituary
Loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, left to be in the comfort of his lord on Monday, February 23, 2009. Ray was born on September 5, 1931 in Coolidge, TX to Chester and Francis Emmons and graduated from Hubbard High School. He was proud to have served his country for 20 years in the United States Air Force retiring as a Master Sergeant having served in Korea and Turkey. After retiring from the Air Force, Ray worked many years for the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA). He was a Noble of the Mystic Shrine, Hella Temple Dallas. Ray was a devoted member of the Floyd’s Faithful Sunday School Class at Park Cities Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at Park Cities Baptist Church at 2pm today with a reception to follow at the church. Ray is preceded in death by his parents Chester and Francis Emmons, wife Patricia Anne Emmons and his granddaughter Loren Elizabeth Snyder. He is survived by his loving wife of 21 years, Melba Emmons, his son and daughter-in-law Mike and Frances Emmons of Plano, his daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth Anne and David Chaney of Dallas, step daughters and sons-in-law June Jenkins and Mort Rubin of Dallas and Debbie and Steven Weiss of Malibu, CA and Ray is also survived by his wonderful grandchildren, Anna Emmons of Plano, Kyle Snyder of Rockwall, Colton and Chasen Weiss of Malibu, CA. Ray is also survived by his Uncle and Aunt Earl Dean and Peggy Phillips of Hubbard, TX, Uncle and Aunt Billy and Pickle Emmons of Hubbard and his cousins and best friends Charles and Barbara Vaughn of Dallas. Family requests that donations may be made to the Livestrong Foundation.
