I've known Wendell since Westin was in first grade. I have heard his primeval scream; seen his antics - whatever the situation. He was a thundercloud but was also a very sweet and generous person. One of the hardest working and party hearty people I've ever known. I'm going to miss that smile. He loved his family, pets and John Wayne. I believe he lived more than nine lives. One tough guy -- just like John Wayne. Love ya, guy. You are already sorely missed.
Every family reunion we had in our younger years, Wendall was there. In later years, he always had Westin with him. We didn’t see much of each other in later years, but we always stayed in touch❤️. He is sorely missed, but out of pain & in a better place. I know he’s excited to be with his parents & loved ones after such a lengthy time.

My Uncle Wendell. So many great and funny memories. I broke my finger playing tag in your house and I wrecked your lawnmower into a tree, but I was always welcomed back. I grew up watching you and my mom navigate parenthood and sibling love. I could always count on you to make me laugh. I thought you were so cool for letting Westin cuss when the record that was playing had a bad word in it. As always, when I go I’m honking three times and signing I love you. Until we meet again.
One time at a family reunion we were out camping and a strong storm broke out. The women and children hid in the bathrooms, but your story was that you jumped on the boat and rode out the tornado. You stuck to that story forever. I still wonder what really happened. Miss you and love you!
