Wendy Lee Kimbrell's Obituary
Wendy Lee Kimbrell, born to Vera Yvonne (Coakley) and Myron Wesley Thompson in Madison, Wisconsin on July 24th, 1943, passed away peacefully in her home in Garland, Texas on October 19th, 2024.
Wendy married her sweetheart, Dennis Lee Miller, in 1964 and was blessed with her son, Todd Lee Miller, the following year. Due to an unfortunate automotive accident, she was widowed in 1967. Wendy and Todd relocated to Texas in the mid-1970s.
Her life was a testament to her strong work ethic and desire to help others. Wendy earned her degree in nursing and had a lifelong career in healthcare. She diligently worked to help improve the lives and health of her patients until her retirement.
Along the way, she fell in love and would marry Kenneth Olen Kimbrell at the Candlelight Wedding Chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada in 1991. Together, they lived a life filled with joy and adventure until his death in 2003.
In her later years, Wendy's passion took a creative turn when she joined a local group creating hand-hooked rugs from wool. Her handiwork adorns the homes of her loved ones, including potholders and rugs, … and even earned her a prize in Creative Arts at the great State Fair of Texas.
Wendy is survived by her son, Todd Miller; her granddaughter, Anna (Miller) Olivares and husband Gerardo; and many close friends and extended family. Wendy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In lieu of flowers, please support the elderly in your area through Meals on Wheels.
