W.H. Gambrell's Obituary
W.H. Gambrell, also known to family and friends as “Bo”, passed away into the presence of his Lord at the age of 79 years on Sunday, February 25, 2018, in Rockwall, Texas. Many wonder how he acquired the nickname “Bo”. When he was born his brother had difficulty saying “Brother” so he called him “Bo” instead. That nickname followed Bo all throughout his life.Bo always had an uplifting outlook on life. He was a loving, caring, thoughtful, and hardworking Christian man who would have done anything for anyone and was always there if someone needed help. He never met a stranger and never met someone he didn’t like. He worked very hard in his life and after his school years owned Gambrell Plumbing Company until his retirement. At a very young age, his mother asked him to draw a picture on a small chalkboard. Bo drew a lake and a fish. That love for fishing and the water transcended throughout his entire life. Bo loved fishing, traveling, his family, and his friends. In fact, he is probably fishing right now.Bo was born on March 2, 1938 to Bryan Gambrell and Irene Robbins in Dallas, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Billy Joe Gambrell, his sister Helen Gambrell, his mother-in-law Mary Grace Black, and his father-in-law Eugene Black. He was baptized at a young age and belonged to Samuell Place Baptist Church in Pleasant Grove where he tirelessly gave his time to the Church and to the Church’s school.Bo Gambrell is survived by his beloved wife Jean Ann Gambrell and loving son Allen L Christian Jr, and his granddoggy, Hope Christian. He is also survived by his two special daughters Cindy Self and Donna Busby; and many nieces and nephews and grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6:00pm – 8:00pm at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, March 2, 2018 at 10:00am in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home.Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
