Today, we say goodbye to my beloved Lola Mina.
Though distance and time kept us from having the relationship I wish we could have had, I never questioned your love for me. You became part of the foundation of the person I am today. Your kindness, generosity, and unwavering belief in my future gave me the opportunity to pursue my dreams and become the person I had always hoped to be. I will forever be grateful because you helped open the doors that led me to the life I now live.
One of my greatest regrets is that we never had the chance to reconnect. I wish we had more conversations. I wish I had the opportunity to thank you in person and let you know how much your love meant to me.
More than anything, I wish you had the chance to meet my husband, Michael, your grandson-in-law, and your great-great-grandchildren, Kaymi and Kalixto. I would have loved for them to know you, and for you to see the beautiful family that God has blessed me with. As they grow older, I will tell them about you. I will tell them that long before they were born, there was a remarkable woman whose love, generosity, and sacrifices became part of the reason their mother was able to build the life she has today. I will make sure they know that you were one of the people God used to help shape our family’s future.
Although our paths drifted apart over the years, my gratitude for you never faded. Thank you for believing in me. Thank you for every sacrifice you made, every act of kindness, and every expression of love, even from afar. Your legacy is not only found in the lives you touched but also in the generations that came after because of your faithfulness and generosity.
I find comfort in knowing that God’s plans are always perfect. While I wish we could have seen each other one last time, I trust that this, too, is part of His greater purpose. I pray that you are now resting peacefully in His presence, where there is no more pain, only everlasting joy.
Thank you, Lola Mina. You will always hold a special place in my heart, and you will never be forgotten.
Until we meet again, may you rest in the loving arms of our Lord.
Your grandchild from Noel Cledera,
Ana Jema Kay Cledera-Faminial
