Willa Lou Wilson's Obituary
Willa Lou Wilson (Billie) of McKinney, Texas, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 8, 2020. She was born September 30, 1926, in Cowgill, Missouri, the daughter of James B. King and Bessie King. She was 93 years old.
Billie graduated from Crozier Tech High School in Dallas. She married Warren D. Blevins of Enloe, Texas in 1947. They were married for 18 years and had three children together. Warren preceded her in death. She was married to James E. Wilson for 36 years and they raised a blended family of seven children. Billie worked as a bookkeeper for Fox and Jacobs Homes and Dairy Queen and was a gifted cook and baker. She also enjoyed sewing, working in the garden and painting. She was a dedicated Mom, and later in life enjoyed spending time with family, friends and reading.
She is survived by her three children: James Ronnie Blevins of The Colony, TX, Larry Warren Blevins of Arlington, TX, Debra Louise Nieman, of McKinney, TX, her sister, Margie Barnes, and four stepchildren Steve Wilson, Valerie Tarbill, Debra Tatum and Buddy Wilson. She has more than 20 grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Billie was a dedicated Christian who served her Lord Jesus, her husband and 7 children. Jesus told his disciples that the key to greatness is to find a way to serve many (Mark 10:44-45). She had the heart of a servant and practiced that every day by helping others. Words will never be sufficient to explain how dearly she will be missed.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 13, 2020 at Restland Funeral Home. The funeral will begin on at 9:00 a.m. in the Wildwood Chapel with viewing and visitation followed by services at 10 a.m.
