William Carl Baskett's Obituary
BASKETT, WILLIAM CARL, age 85, of Wylie, TX passed away peacefully on September 15, 2011 at Baylor Hospital of Plano. He was born on April 30, 1926 in Wichita Falls, TX to his parents, Charles and Betty. William was the oldest of 3. He married Elizabeth in Sour Lake, TX on August 22, 1948. They had 4 children. He attended Woodrow Wilson High School and graduated in 1944. He served in the Navy for 2 years and served in WW II, earning American Campaign and Asiatic Pacific Campaign medals. He was a longtime resident of Garland, Texas for 56 years and employed by Hunt Oil Co./Rosewood Corp. as a Payroll Manager for 38 years. William was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church. He enjoyed watching sports, camping, bowling, going to church, but mostly enjoyed being around and spending his time with his beloved family. William will be remembered by his loving wife and their children; Charles, wife Janet, Gary, wife MaryKay, Jeff, wife Terri, Karen and husband Terry. He is also survived by seven grandchildren; Gary II, Eric, Starr, Courtney, Stephanie, Marshall, Kristin, and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters. Relatives and friends are invited to a visitation for William at 6:00 PM on Sunday, Sept. 18 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Services will be held at 12:30 PM Monday, Sept. 19 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
