Bill was raised in small community in Dallas called Vickery. He attended Vickery reunions for many years enjoying the people he had known his whole life and celebrating the community he loved. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Hillcrest High School and a 1960 graduate of the now-named University of North Texas. He was drafted into the Korean War and served stateside in the Army and then the National Guard. Bill was proud to have served his country and continued to honor others who served.
Bill spent many years as a salesman, traveling the backroads of Texas and beyond. He loved talking to anyone so sales was a perfect fit for him! He had a passion for motorcycles, and he and his wife, Fran, would spend weekend mornings on their motorcycle. They developed many friendships on their travels across Texas and the Southwest. Bill was happiest on his motorcycle.
Bill and Fran were married for 58 years, living most of those years in Richardson, where Newberry Drive was home. Many happy memories of holidays, birthdays, weddings, anniversaries and welcoming of grandbabies happened on Newberry. Bill and Fran were always waiting for you at the door with a hug.
