William "Bill" Lester Stone Sr.'s Obituary
William “Bill” L. Stone, Sr. gained his wings on May 27, 2023. He was born on September 8, 1930, to Robert Walton and Hattie Grellhesl Stone in Dallas, Texas. He graduated from Crozier Tech and joined the United States Marine Corps in 1948. Bill entered as a Private and obtained the rank of Sergeant. He fought in the Korean War where he became disabled and received an Honorable Discharge in 1951. He was a decorated Marine.
As a civilian, Bill attended SMU and became an Instrumentation Engineer. He was successful in his career and worked until he was 80.
He was a Christian who made it his mission to share God’s Word with those he met along the way. He loved his family and was called Pops by his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Bill was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann “Honey” Stone in 2018 and his daughter, Deborrah Stone McKeown in 2022. He is survived by children and their spouses: Denise and Ted Burmingham, Bill and Nancy Howard Stone, Roxane Stone Baumert. Grandchildren: Tracy McKeown, Jennifer McKeown, Blaine Burmingham, Brandy Burmingham Green, Marilyn Stone, Michelle Colby, Ryan Stone, Austin Baumert, Cassidy Baumert. Great grandchildren: Devin, Jake, and Maura McKeown; Liam and Levi Burmingham; Eli Green; Emily and Brayden Colby; Carter and Clayton Stone; Braxton Baumert; Royce Baumert.
