William R. "Bill" Buckley Sr's Obituary
BUCKLEY, SR., WILLIAM R. “Bill”, 79, died November 29, 2013 in his home in Dallas, Texas. He was born April 22, 1934 in Woodville, Oklahoma. Bill graduated from Sherman High School and from Texas A & M University. Bill enjoyed a successful career in the banking industry. Bill married Kay Gray and they enjoyed 55 years of marriage raising three children together. Bill was a charter member of Prestoncrest Church of Christ where he faithfully served as an elder for 30 years. Bill was a devoted, committed, and loving husband, father, and grand-father. He was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Legate Giles. He is survived by his wife, Kay, and their three children, Beverly Stephens and her husband Tim, Sharon Henderson and her husband Mark, and Bill Buckley, Jr. and his wife, Stacy, seven grandchildren and his two sisters, JoAnn Layman and Becky McLane and her husband Wayne, and many nieces and nephews. A Celebration of Life will be held at Prestoncrest Church of Christ, Monday, December 2, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to Prestoncrest Church of Christ or Faith Presbyterian Hospice.
