William Bullock Bond's Obituary
Bill went to be with his Lord and Savior on February 7, 2021 after a 6 year battle with dementia. He was born on October 20, 1938 in Hillsboro, TX to Will and Louisa Bond. He was raised in Hillsboro and graduated from Hillsboro High School. He then graduated from Baylor University with a BA in chemistry in 1961. In 1962, Bill married Caroline Hazlip. He received an MS in mathematics in 1965 and moved with Caroline to Pasadena, TX. While living in Pasadena, he worked as a math analyst for NASA in Clear Lake City, TX.
In 1966, he and Caroline moved to Richardson and he was employed at Collins Radio, Texas Instruments, Lennox, and ended his career in the information resources department at UTD, retiring after 18 years in 2004. Bill also taught math and computer science courses at several community colleges and DBU. He was a long time member of Prestonwood Baptist Church in Plano. He was greatly loved by his family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Caroline, daughter Amy Suzanne Bond of Richardson, TX, son Dr. Kirk Bond and his wife Leanna, granddaughters Annalise and Sarah Kate Bond all of Temple, TX., SISTER Susan Bond Ramsey, nieces Mary Kay Zamzow, Rebecca Pustejousky, and Deborah Brooke, and nephew John Ramsey, all of the Hillsboro area, sister-in-law Roberta Self of Pittsburg, niece Karen Colbeck of Dallas, and numerous cousins, and many friends.
Burial will be in Hillsboro, TX at Ridge Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International, Plano Allen Camp, PO Box 940231, Plano, TX 75094.
