William Ray Boruff's Obituary
Bill was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 8, 1933 to Bert and Opal Boruff, and spent his younger years in the small community of Bridgeport, Indiana. He graduated from Purdue University in 1955 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering and took a position with Chance Vought Aircraft in Dallas, Texas. After working 39 years with the same company, Bill retired from LTV in March 1994, and began to spend time traveling with his wife Sharron, fishing, enjoying five grandchildren, three great grandchildren, and pursuing his passion of collecting antique phonographs and other musical machines. He was an active member of AMICA (Antique Musical Instrument Collectors Association), MBSI (Music Box Collectors International), and several antique phonograph organizations. In January 2012 when Bill became ill, his devoted wife Sharron became his untiring and constant caregiver, seeing to all of his needs until his death. Bill was preceded in death by his parents Opal and Bert Boruff of Dallas. Bill is survived by his wife and soul mate of 33 years Sharron Boruff, daughter and son-in-law Karen and Milton Barnum of Mansfield, son and daughter-in-law David and Roxanne Boruff of Arlington; five grandchildren, three great grandchildren; brothers Jim Boruff and wife Sharon, Bob Boruff and wife Carol of Rowlett, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends. Service for Bill will take place at 3:00 pm, Saturday, May 23, 2015 in the Abbey Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with visitation 2 hours prior to the service in the chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
